I came in late today as i had the dentist earlier this morning, when i came in i found out that i would be in a group with Richard to set up a production project and the first job i had to think about would be the development of the project brief.

Video games developer

Video games developers are software developers which can be in a business or individually and they create the video games. Games developers can focus on one console such as PS3, Xbox 360, nintedo wii or could develop for a variety of consoles. Developers also tend to focus on a certain type of game like first person shooters, tactical or sports games.

The majority of there work takes place in the development studio like Activisions Radical Entertainment, and the developers are completly involved with all work from the 1st steps to the very last.

Qualifications required for this job can need up to 4/5 years managment skills with creative teams also required to be very good technical and managment of projects.

Passionate about games development

The right balance between the business and creative team

The right disipline and willingness to get the games to the highest standard possible

Games developers start out testing games (mainly for faults or glitches) then can be team manager or even head of company which require for qualifications mainly in graphis/animation

Todays class started in 704 with team building and leadership games, which was a lot of fun and everyone seemed to really enjoy the experience. The later part of the class was spent in our normal room 607A with a bit of photoshop, we searched on google images for our faverourite images then made a slideshow of them using photoshop, which some recored on a camera then we uploaded them to youtube then eventually to this.

Today in creative digital media the day started with a woman called Sally coming in and talking about child abuse, we got given questions and most people answered them accurately. It was a serious issue but the woman felt that it was a subject that had to be talked about. After the break we began an assessment on a job title of our choice and i choose to do a web designer.

Passed a PC Passport assessment got 12/15 should of been 13 but i scored out a correct answer and put a wrong answer, leading up to the assessment i found the practices fairly easy so i fully expected to pass.

College graphic design could be a starter course on leading towards being a games developer

Using Embed code in blogger, PowerPoint Presentation to slideshare and embedding in blog Animation created in Flash. Saved as a Movie and placed on YouTube and then code embedded into Blogger.

Today in Creative Digital Media the class used Adobe illustrator and flash to create some animations from scratch, which was a fish swimming through water. We also watched Simone Legnos design techniques which looked awesome and he gave tips for people who liked to design things similar to his.

Today in class we went out with digital cameras and took photos of each other "looking happy" which we then uploaded to photo bucket and then took some and put them into scrap blog, which we knew how to use because Gillian demonstrated how to use the editing tools for it.
